Tractor Round Up

Now that Bill has expanded around the shop for more equipment, let's have a tractor round-up! Pay attention because we may have a pop farm quiz.

This is a new Kubota 8530 that Bill tested this fall.  New price is around $35,000.  He is unhappy with the Carreros repair history and wants to go to a different company.  If "Consumer Reports" tested tractors, the Carreros would have a black dot next to repair history.   Notice the sexy curves and eyes.

Another view of the Kubota.

This is Bill's new but used tractor this year.  He has been looking for another John Deere 2355 like the one farther down the page.  This is a 2855 and has a four rather than a three cylinder motor.  It is the same year (1989) but in better shape with only 2100 hours.  The profile of the tractor is almost identical.  The older John Deeres have been the real work horses of our farming operation.  The newer ones are not the same tractor.  Competition has lowered prices which has led to inferior quality, hence the Carreros.  If this tractor was still being manufactured, with the same quality, it would likely cost $50,000 or more.

Another view of the 2855.

Here's one of the Carreros.  Very compact for tight plantings, which is why Bill purchased this tractor.

The 2355 (Natalie drives this one.)

Another picure of the 2855

Here's the pop farm quiz.! It's as much from me as from Kenny Chesney.

Which tractor do you think I think is sexy that really turns me on, so that I'm always starin' at Bill when he's chuggin along?

a. Kubota 8530

b. John Deere 2355

c. John Deere 2855

d. Carrero 7400

Good luck!
